Little Miracles chap 3

Kyller was at the police office with Officer Nate. He was sitting a wheeler chair spinning around and playing with a piece of paper that he was blowing when it landed on his face. He looked over when the door opened and Officer Nate walked in with a boy around Kyller’s age. The boy had reddish hair that was tied up in a ponytail. He had the same caramel eyes that Nate had and the same fair skin color. He looked like Nate except for his hair color and he didn’t have much muscle. He looked at Kyller who recognized him from school but never really introduced himself or even talked to the older male. “Kyller this is my son Keith,” Nate said introducing the two boys and breaking the awkward silence that was engulfing the room. Kyller nodded and sat up straight in the chair, “Uh.....Hi,” He said a little flustered as he spoke. Keith let a smile go across his face, “Hi,” He said in a calm voice. He held out his hand to Kyller who shook it nervous. He was doubting Nate’s plans for the introduction of these two but didn’t want to look it or get on Nate’s bad side. “It’s nice to meet you I’ve seen you around school,” Keith said trying to start a conversation. “Yeah I know you're always in the library,” Kyller said smiled. Keith nodded and smiled sitting on Nate’s desk and talking with Kyller for the next hour or so while his dad worked.

They actually got to learn a lot about each other in that little time and Kyller even trusted Keith enough to tell him about him being pregnant with Derek from the schools baby. Keith didn’t seem upset until Kyller told him that it was because Derek raped him that the even got pregnant. Keith listened and was understanding. Kyller smiled he was happy he had made a friend over this vacation it made him feel better about what has happened in the last few months. Kyller sadly had to leave after their conversation since he had a ultrasound that noon. He said goodbye to Keith and got his number so they could talk later which was nice since Kyller had little to no friends anymore.

Kyller got to the hospital and sat in a chair and waited patiently to be called in for his ultrasound. He placed a hand on his stomach. He smiled. Today he was going to find out his baby’s gender thanks to Amber. He grabbed a magazine and flipped threw it bored. He got a weird look from a women who had to be about eight months pregnant but ignored it. He put down the magazine when Amber called him in for his ultrasound. Getting up he walked over and hugged her. “Hi Dr. Kelsey,” He said smiling. “Hey kiddo come on lets see how you and the baby are doing,” She said gesturing to the examining room to do the ultrasound. Kyller smiled and walked over getting onto the hospital bed and lying down. Amber smiled and turned got ready for the ultrasound. Kyller lifted his shirt as she put the gel on the wand. She firmly placed it on his stomach being gentle so she wouldn’t hurt the baby. Kyller watched the ultrasound screen as he started hearing his baby’s tiny heartbeat. He let a couple tears rundown his face as he remember how this fetus had even gotten conceived. He smiled as he saw his baby on the monitor. “And there she is,” Amber said pointing to the baby. Kyller smiled letting tears stream his face, “I’m having a girl?” He sounded shocked but excited. Amber nodded and turned the screen so Kyller go it a better look at the baby. “She’s saying hi,” Kyller said seeing the infants hand moving. Amber smiled, “Want some pictures?” She asked. Kyller nodded and tried to get a hold of his emotions.  

Amber got the picture of Kyller’s baby and handed it to him. “Do you have a name picked out for her?” She asked. Kyller nodded and placed a hand on his stomach looking at the ultrasound picture. “Kimberly,” He said with a smile finally stopping his crying. “Beautiful name,” Amber smiled and wrote down his next appointment. Kyller gave her a hugged and thanked her before he left. He looked at the ultrasound picture as he walked to his car. He put the picture in the glove compartment and started the car as he drove off he thought of how to design the nursery. Now that he knew his baby’s gender he could work on it a happy smile on his face. He went home to relax for the rest of the day.

~Time skip~

Kyller was know four months pregnant and was hoping to fill Kimberly kick soon. He had became close friends with Keith as well and was going back to school as well. He was going to the home improvement store to get stuff for Kimberly’s nursery. When he got there he went to the infant and toddler section and  looked around finding the perfect stuff for Kimberly’s nursery. As he was getting the stuff towards his car he ran into Derek. “Shit,” He mumbled. He couldn’t have him see him with baby supplies. Derek would become suspicious and probably threaten him if he found out Kimberly was his child. Kyller quickly opened his trunk and put the small stuff in it. Derek noticed this and walked over. Kyller gulped and looked at Derek when he noticed him walking over. Kyller quickly shut the trunk of his car and smiled due to nervousness. He had to think of a way out now before Derek got to close. He looked at his car and slipped his hand in his pocket looking for his keys to get out of there. He knew If Derek found anything out he would be done for and so would Kimberly. After hunting for his keys in his pocket for ten minutes Kyller finally found them and unlocked his car door getting in and starting the car quickly. He took a deep breath and drove back driving out of the parking lot.

Kyller finally calmed down when he was far enough away that he didn’t think Derek would follow. He drove for a few hours just driving around when he saw Keith being surrounded by a group of people. Keith looked like he was in a bad place. Kyller quickly stopped his car and got out, “Keith you okay?” He asked probably making a terrible move. The group turned to Kyller. “Whose this your boyfriend?” One of the guys in the group asked snickering at his own joke. Keith shakes his head being silent. He didn’t want Kyller or the baby getting hurt. He had to think of something before then. “Really. Then you won’t mind if I have him,” A girl in the group laughed walking over and pulling Kyller towards the group. “He is a cutie,” Another said grabbing Kyller by the chin. Kyller jumped a little. “Leave him alone,” Keith snapped. “Aww whats wrong we’re just having a little fun,” A guy joked. “LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!!” Keith snapped. The group pushed Kyller off to the side. The pregnant male fell on his stomach. Keith snapped in anger he felt entirely different Kyller heard screaming and the noises of a fight. He closed his eyes and covered his stomach with his arms and tried to forget what was going on. He felt something go under his body as he was lifted up. He opened his eyes just a little to see it was Keith. His arms unconditionally wrapped around Keith as he clung to him. “Don’t worry Kyller you and the baby will be okay,” Keith tried to reassure his pregnant friend. He rushed to Kyller’s car and opened the passenger side sitting Kyller in the car and buckling him up before taking the keys from him and rushing off towards the hospital. Kyller lied his head on the car window and rested a hand on his stomach. He prayed that Keith was right and Kimberly would be okay.

Keith made it to the hospital in only a couple minutes. He rushed over to the passenger side of the door and got Kyller out rushing in the hospital. “Help,” He called worried. Amber noticed them and walked over, “Keith what happened?” She asked look at Kyller. “A group pushed Kyller and he landed on his stomach,” He said quickly. Amber eyes widen and she called for a gurney and Keith lied Kyller down on it. some other doctors rushed Kyller off. “Keith wait in the waiting room. I’m calling your father,” She said. Keith nodded and went to the waiting room. He hopped Kyller and his baby would be okay. He hadn’t felt so nervous in his whole life. He tapped his feet on the linoleum floors of the hospital as he waited for Kyller.

After a while Kyller came out of the examine room and Keith ran over to him worried. “Is the baby okay?” He asked calmly. Kyller nodded, “Kimberly started kicking me the second we got in the examine room so they just checked to see if her vital signs were okay,” He said. “You’re having a girl?” Keith asked. Kyller nodded, “You wanna feel her kick?” He asked. Keith nodded and bent down placing his hands on Kyller’s still small baby bump. He rubbed Kyller’s stomach slowly waiting. Kimberly softly kicked Keith’s hand. A wide smile came on to the redheads face. “Thats amazing,” He said in wonderment. Kyller giggled, “Thank you for helping me,” Keith said standing up and giving his friend a hug. “Hey thats what friends do for each other,” Kyller said smiling. Keith smiled as Kyller rested his head on his shoulder. “yeah……. Friends,” He mumbled.
